IFS launches IFS Intelligence to connect industrial decisions with governed AI actions
On October 13, 2026, IFS launched IFS Intelligence, a product intended to connect operational information from assets, work orders, schedules and enterprise systems with recommendations and controlled actions. Cowork allows users to investigate problems and approve proposed actions. Loops assigns defined workflows to digital workers that escalate when judgment or approval is required. The Industrial AI Harness provides the underlying operational controls. IFS says the product is available now, but has not established independently measured production performance improvements in this announcement. The architectural shift is from AI-assisted diagnosis to controlled operational execution. A production recommendation has value only if it can be checked against current material availability, capacity commitments, scheduling constraints and authorized actions. Cowork and Loops define different decision boundaries: one requires explicit approval, while the other delegates repeatable workflows with escalation. The failure mode is an apparently coherent recommendation that cannot be executed safely in the actual production system. The relevant measure is decision reliability, not conversational fluency.
