How retailers are rewiring supply chains for resilience (DP World 2026 Retail Supply Chain Resilience Report)

In its 2026 Retail Supply Chain Resilience Report, DP World and Supply Chain Dive examine how North American retailers respond to disruption as an ongoing operating condition rather than an isolated emergency.
The survey of 100 retail supply chain executives reports that 74% are adjusting supply chain routing and 80% are diversifying suppliers amid material shortages and changing trade policies. The operating levers discussed include dynamic routing, predictive analytics and AI, end-to-end visibility and 3PL partnerships.
The figures describe reported actions by this sample; they do not establish their financial returns, causality or applicability to all retailers. The sharper planning question is how to price flexibility against transportation cost, service level and inventory risk, then decide when a reroute is actually justified.
