NOMINATION: Aebi Schmidt appoints Georg Mohr Chief Supply Chain

Aebi Schmidt Group announced on 20 October 2026 that Georg Mohr will join as Chief Supply Chain and Member of the Group Executive Board, effective 1 January 2027. He will succeed Stefan Kaltenbach, who is leaving the company after seven years. Mohr most recently served as Executive Vice President Purchasing & Supply Chain at KOSTAL Group. His stated priorities at Aebi Schmidt will be improving group procurement performance and supply chain resilience. The appointment forms part of a broader leadership reorganization. Michael Schneider, currently Vice President Operations North America, has been appointed to the newly created position of Chief Global Production Excellence and Member of the Group Executive Board, effective 1 November 2026. His responsibilities include driving production excellence and supporting the continuing optimization of the group's production network. The same announcement names Irina Hot as President Commercial and Member of the Group Executive Board and reorganizes commercial leadership across Aebi Schmidt's North American business units. These changes follow the group's expansion in North America, including its acquisition of The Shyft Group in July 2025. For industrial Supply Chain leaders, the relevant organizational development is the elevation of procurement and Supply Chain responsibilities to Group Executive Board level alongside a distinct global production excellence function and changes in commercial leadership. The resulting allocation of decision rights across sourcing, manufacturing capacity, resilience and customer service is an important operating-model question. Georg Mohr's appointment is announced but will not take effect until 1 January 2027. The press release does not establish a new AI program, technology deployment, revised decision-rights framework or measured operational improvement. The Dataleo angle

Putting a Chief Supply Chain on Aebi Schmidt's Group Executive Board while establishing a separate Chief Global Production Excellence role creates a concrete operating-model question: who arbitrates when procurement economics, production capacity, resilience and customer service require conflicting choices? The parallel changes in commercial leadership make the allocation of cross-functional decision rights particularly relevant. The potential value lies in clarifying which executive owns each decision, which trade-offs require joint arbitration and how competing priorities are escalated. The principal risk is fragmented accountability, with sourcing, production and commercial teams optimizing their own objectives without a coherent group-level decision process. The appointments signal a leadership structure, not proof that these decision rights have already been defined or that operational performance has improved.
