RISK: IMO Begins Coordinated Passage for Ships Stranded in the Gulf
The IMO has begun coordinating phased passage for ships stranded in the Gulf following the US-Iran ceasefire. Maritime disruption remains material because navigation capacity, insurance exposure and accumulated vessel delays will recover at different speeds.
The Dataleo angle
A reopened route is not the same as restored supply. Planning systems should model the release of trapped vessels, containers and commodities as a constrained recovery curve rather than an immediate return to historical lead times.
