Salomon is recruiting a Data and Business Intelligence intern to support its Softgoods R&D team in Annecy. The six-month internship will begin in September or October 2026 and focuses on using data, analytics and AI to improve product-development processes and help teams innovate more efficiently.
The role combines Data Management, business intelligence and project support. Responsibilities include building robust and scalable data models, improving data quality and consistency, developing high-impact Power BI reporting, and producing analyses that support operational and product-development decisions.
The intern will also explore AI-enabled capabilities such as automated insights, intelligent summaries and anomaly detection. The expected profile includes data engineering or analytics knowledge, familiarity with Python and SQL, exposure to machine learning, and an interest in digital product-development tools such as Rhino, Creo, Abaqus or NX.
This role is relevant to Supply Chain AI because it sits upstream of manufacturing and supply chain execution, where product data quality and development-process visibility influence downstream sourcing, industrialization and operational readiness.
The governance question is whether the new BI and AI capabilities become trusted decision tools or remain isolated dashboards. Salomon will need clear ownership of data models, definitions, validation rules and version control so that insights generated in R&D can be reused reliably across product development, engineering and later operational processes.
