The affected decision is whether an AI or robotics capability remains a local automation project or changes the network’s standard operating model. Value requires roles, process ownership, exception handling and capital allocation to be redesigned around the technology.
The principal failure mode is scaling equipment while preserving the manual coordination and local optimisation that limited the previous operating model.
