Forecast vs. actual: why protocol design breaks clinical supply plans

Clinical supply plans often inherit assumptions from protocol design, including enrollment, allocation, depot stock and replenishment rules. When actual trial behavior diverges, forecast error compounds into expiry risk, manufacturing pressure and poor inventory positioning. Clinical supply planning therefore needs a closed replanning loop using actual enrollment, consumption, expiry, production capacity, exception thresholds and accountable override ownership.
