The embedded-versus-bolt-on debate is fundamentally about context. Generic models can reason over supplied information, but planning decisions depend on constraints, hierarchies, policies, calendars, scenarios and current system state. The more consequential the recommendation, the more important it becomes to preserve that planning context.
