Trend lists are useful only when translated into system-layer choices. Planning, execution, data and agent capabilities should not be treated as interchangeable. Organisations need to decide whether a capability belongs in APS, ERP, WMS, TMS or an orchestration layer.

The principal failure mode is adding an agent or orchestration layer where the underlying decision logic already belongs in a core planning or execution system.
