Agentic AI is turning logistics communication into an execution layer

Augment’s Harish Abbott describes agents operating across emails, calls, texts and enterprise workflows in transportation and distribution—moving communication channels closer to the point where logistics actions are initiated.

In episode 99 of Alcott Global’s Leaders in Tech and E-commerce podcast, Harish Abbott, CEO and co-founder of Augment, describes agentic workflows operating across emails, calls, texts and operational systems in transportation, freight brokerage and distribution.

The applications discussed include shipment visibility, carrier sourcing, freight negotiations and sales operations. The operational change is that communication channels are becoming part of the logistics execution layer, rather than remaining inputs that employees manually interpret and transfer into enterprise systems.

This can reduce information delays and administrative handoffs. It also means that an agent may influence or execute an operational decision before the transaction is fully reconciled in the TMS, ERP or other system of record.
