S&OP needs decision memory, not another collaborative whiteboard

The launch of SCM Decision Canvas by Miro and Fortience highlights a recurring weakness in S&OP: meetings generate discussion and slides, but often fail to preserve the logic behind a decision.

The affected workflow is the planning cycle itself. Value requires assumptions, alternatives, ownership and consequences to remain connected to the chosen scenario and later execution.

The principal failure mode is capturing attractive meeting artefacts without linking the selected decision to APS scenarios, ERP commitments and measured outcomes.
